Client: Laurie-Ann Kosec, Parks and Open Space Planner
Location: City of Prince George, BC
Date: 2008
Project Description:
Veteran’s Plaza, in downtown Prince George, BC, anchors the open space system in this part of the community. The cenotaph, which honours local Canadian soldiers who died in WW I, WW II and the Korean War is the centerpiece of this park. LEES+Associates have been commissioned to develop a design for Veteran’s Plaza that integrates the sacredness of the cenotaph, the ceremonies that occur in the plaza and its importance as a civic space at the front door to City Hall. Concept design and construction drawings for this project will be complete by the end of this year. Construction is expected to get underway in Spring, 2009.
