  • December, 2011 – ELAC welcomes Megan Turnock. Megan brings to the firm 10 years of experience as an environmental consultant for public and private clients, working on a range of projects including environmental planning, habitat restoration design, and environmental impact assessments. Welcome Megan!
  • November, 2011 – ELAC welcomes Susan McAllister! Susan is a registered landscape architect now based in the LEES+Associates Ontario office. She is a highly competent, skilled professional with strong design and project management skills. Susan brings to the team experience working in both public and private sectors in Ontario and the eastern US.

  • October, 2011 – ELAC is pleased to welcome Chris McBride to the team! Chris holds a Bachelor degree in landscape architecture (BLA) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from North Dakota State University. Originally from Saskatchewan, Chris brings 8 years of stateside design experience to the company. Chris' strengths are in urban design, master planning, and recreation facility design projects.

  • October, 2011 –Congratulations to Vancouver's Charles Montgomery, who delivered the keynote address at this year's ASLA Annual Meeting & Expo in San Diego. For more on Charles' presentation, entitled "“Social Ties Are the Most Important Contributor to Happiness,” read The Dirt (ASLA).

  • August, 2010 – ELAC designed corn maze opens in Waterloo County Ontario. ELAC Associate Damian Bradley used GPS to design and assist with implementation of this seasonal Waterloo landmark. View Project Link

  • July, 2010 – Ontario Office Opens – LEES+Associates is pleased to announce the official expansion into Ontario with the opening of our office in Newmarket, Ontario.  Located 20 minutes north of Toronto in the York Region, we look forward to enhancing service to our clients in the Greater Toronto Area and reaching out to new clients throughout Ontario, Eastern Canada and the United States.  We bring to Ontario a wealth of knowledge and expertise in urban and rural open space planning, design and project management. These skills, combined with those in our Vancouver, BC office and the recent acquisition of high quality GPS equipment significantly increases the value and convenience we are able to offer our clients.

  • July, 2010 - In house GPS technology – LEES+Associates now has a high-accuracy Global Positioning System (GPS) Trimble GeoXH unit with Tornado antenna, backpack and range pole. This equipment will further enhance our ability to create, store, manage and communicate spatial information. We look forward to utilizing GPS as part of our core service delivery on many projects including our work in the parks and trails, cemetery, environmental and health & the built environment sectors. Recently Appointed

  • Fernwood Athletic Field – Salt Spring Island, BC
    LEES+Associates will prepare a plan for upgrading the existing Fernwood Elementary School natural turf field. Located at the north end of Salt Spring Island the site is situated on approximately 2.6 hectares (6.4 acres).  Deliverables will include a concept sketch accompanied by cost projections, cut-and-fill requirements, and related information needed to obtain quotations for implementation of the project.

  • Parks and Recreation Master Plan – City of Salmon Arm, BC
    LEES+Associates has been engaged to review and update the City of Salmon Arm Parks & Open Space Plan which was adopted in 2001. We will work closely with staff, stakeholders and the community to establish clear vision for the City’s open space system. The final plan will outline a framework for future decision making and budgeting by establishing short, medium and long term priorities for the City’s 54 hectares of parkland.


  • Beacon Hill Look Out – Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, AB
    LEES+Associates with Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc (lead contractor) are collaborating on the design and construction of a new look out station in the north end of Beacon Hill neighbourhood in Fort McMurray. The look out will contribute to the City's parks and open space system by providing a trail connection and opportunities for passive recreation. Construction is expected to be complete by November 15, 2011.
