Project Description:
Concept development, design and construction of a streambed and pond to collect and manage surface and subsurface water in a community park in East Vancouver. The project included developing a series of wetland gardens planted with native species. Recycled materials were used to construct bridges, decks and benches. Pathways and viewing areas were provided to attract and encourage greater community use. LEES + Associates was also responsible for the design of interpretive signage to explain the project's habitat values and to promote the projects underlying concepts of sustainable storm water management.
